The Broken Arrow Historical Society Museum has several exciting upcoming events
From May 10 until June 22, we will be having a special exhibit honoring Glenn Pray. He was one of Broken Arrow's legendary citizens and a man of imagination and innovation. In 1960, Pray brought the Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg Company in Indiana and brought it to Broken Arrow. He began to restore those legendary cars and designed a second generation of automobiles that were manufactured here. Glenn left a collection of radios, phonographs, cars, motorcycles, open cockpit airplanes, etc and many of these items will be on display as part of the special exhibit. Please stop by the museum to enjoy this special collection.
Starting July 6, we will have a special exhibit featuring the pottery of Doug Jeppesen. He is a 1984 Broken Arrow graduate and currently associate professor at Waubonsee Community College in Illinois. He specializes in wood firing and his work has appeared in numerous national juried and invitational exhibits across the United States. His show, entitled "Home: Here and There" will be open to members and the public during regular museum hours.
The Broken Arrow Historical Society Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10-4. We are also open Saturday from 10-2. We invite you to become a member of the Broken Arrow Historical Society and share your knowledge, experiences and pictures with us. Individual memberships are $15.00 and family memberships are $25.00.
